Meghan O’Halloran

Meghan practices in the area of civil litigation, with an interest in professional liability and insurance defence. Prior to joining Cavanagh LLP in 2017, Meghan practiced with a well-known and reputable Ottawa litigation firm.

Meghan takes a proactive approach to communication with clients to guide them through the legal process. She strives to achieve successful results for her clients through meticulous research, detailed preparation and skilled oral and written advocacy.

Meghan uses her skills and experience to to ably represent her clients in negotiation, mediation and court. She has appeared in motions and trials before the Superior Court of Justice, in appeals before the Ontario Court of Appeal and in hearings before various tribunals.

Meghan mentors junior lawyers in the community and is responsible for planning and leading training and leadership courses for junior lawyers as an Instructor with The Advocacy Club. Meghan is regularly called on to speak to lawyers and youth groups in the community.

Meghan currently serves on Council of the Ontario Bar Association and is a Past Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division East. She has also, for many years, acted as Registrar of a ball hockey league for children and youth in the community.

A former snowboarding and swimming instructor, Meghan enjoys spending time at the ski hill and on the beach.
