Sara Mahoney

Sara Mahoney practices in the area of civil litigation, with an interest in professional liability and insurance defence. Sara completed her articles at a national law firm in Ottawa, assisting primarily with civil and regulatory matters involving health professionals. Before joining Cavanagh Williams LLP as an associate, Sara also gained experience with insurance defence matters while practising with a small local firm.

Sara obtained her law degree at the University of Ottawa in 2012 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2013. She currently mentors law students through the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program at the University of Ottawa and sits on the Board of a non-profit, supportive housing organization. As an advanced skier and snowboarder and an amateur hiker and traveller, you can find Sara somewhere outdoors in her spare time no matter the season.
